Internal Job Number: P03777UF Description: Animal & Rangeland Sciences invites applications for one or more Instructors may be needed to develop and/or teach courses in several areas. These areas include growth biology, genetics, nutrition, companion animal management, equestrian courses, colt training, animal products and uses, animal welfare and ethics, meat science, reproductive physiology and production systems in the species of dairy and beef cattle, horses, poultry, sheep, and swine, rangeland analysis, riparian ecology, invasive plant management, as well as more specialized course in range science. The College of Agricultural Sciences faculty are committed to enhancing student success by engaging students in quality academic, research, internships, global studies, and other experiential learning opportunities. Positions with primary responsibility for extension and outreach are likewise committed to learner success through programming appropriate for diverse audience. Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty): Typically requires Master’s degree in discipline appropriate to the field of teaching/instructional tasks. Requirements : Master's degree in Animal Science or related discipline, or Master's degree in Rangeland Ecology and Management, or closely related field as appropriate to the teaching instructional task for all courses. This position may be designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OAR 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions. This position may require driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions (as per Voluntary and Compulsory Driver Standards OAR 125-155-0200) as per OAR 576-056-0000 et seq. Type: Depending on course(s) taught, teaching may involve working at remote locations under a variety of weather conditions ranging from hot/dry to cold/wet, and in potentially steep, rugged, difficult terrain; activities may involve working with small and large animals (including cattle and horses) and working outdoors.
