  • BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
    • Responsible for meeting nutritional needs of patients for optimal patient care; assesses nutritional needs, develops and implements nutritional care plans, evaluates and reports results.
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum Education
      • Bachelors Required in Food Science, Nutrition, Food Systems Administration, or related degree.
    • Minimum Work Experience
      • One year experience in Clinical Dietetics preferred.
      • Pediatric or neonatal experience desired.
    • Required Licenses/Certifications for position
      • Registered Dietitian in compliance with continuing education requirements of the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
      • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in the State of Tennessee.
    • Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
      • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written,) MS office skills, computer skills, ability to solve problems, excellent organization and time management skills, fiscal responsibility, ability to work with families and providers, customer service focused.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Medium lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 20-50 lbs occasionally, 10-20 lbs frequently and 10 lbs constantly to move objects. Sudden emergency situations have the potential for exposure to lifting or moving of up to 100 lbs. Frequent bending, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching and standing are required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.

East Tennessee Children's Hospital is a 152-bed hospital certified by the state of Tennessee as the only Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center in East Tennessee and is accredited by the Joint Commission. As a Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center, Children's Hospital offers full capabilities to care for seriously ill children in a unique pediatric environment and offers the services of many different pediatric subspecialties. Children's Hospital works jointly with the University of Tennessee Medical Center to ensure that injured children in this region receive trauma care at the institution most appropriate for the child's needs. We also assist smaller hospitals by providing pediatric health care training opportunities.
