| The Institute for Food Safety and Health (IFSH) is a consortium of IIT, FDA's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), and the food industry. IFSH comprises IIT scientists, faculty and staff, and FDA scientists of CFSAN's Division of Food Processing Science and Technology physically co-located in the building. IFSH is a unique and one-of-a-kind institute in the nation where FDA, academia and the industry join forces and conduct research in a neutral ground to address major national food safety and nutrition issues. IFSH hosts the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) and Sprout Safety Alliance (SSA) both sharing an objective of developing training curricula for the food industry. The FSPCA members include senior food safety experts, including government agencies, industry and academia. An Administrative Assistant position has been developed to support the FSPCA. This position will support the FSPCA and SSA. The Administrative Assistant position is expected to perform a wide variety of routine and procedural administrative duties to support the FSPCA and SSA which will require guidance and direction. Candidate will provide routine administrative support involving many of the following activities: communications with FSPCA and SSA Administrator/Manager, to assist with managing calendars and meeting schedules, preparing meeting minutes, maintaining database and Sharefile facilities, and other related administrative tasks as directed. Ask supervisor for guidance and direction on all unique or unusual issues.

Requires H.S and post-secondary training and experience of more than 3 years of administrative accomplishments. Experience in food safety preferred but not required.
Knowledge & Skills:
Requires proficiency in basic software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), online meeting platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom), and social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook). Extremely organized to manage high volume of communications and projects. Good interpersonal skills in working with routine and clearly prescribed matters. Experience in food safety preferred but not required.
