Duties/Responsibilities: 25% Culture raw milk and environmental samples from dairy farms for the presence of bacteria. 25% Identify bacteria using MALDI ToF Biotyper. 20% Process requests to purchase culture media 10% Perform quality control procedures to ensure testing accuracy. 10% Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including incubators, autoclaves, pipettes, and balances. Adhere to practices and regulations governing biosafety and biosecurity in the workplace. 5% Perform general laboratory maintenance tasks including but not limited to inventory, stocking supplies, disposal of bioharardous waste, and general laboratory cleaning. 5% Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Animal Science or related field, or a combination of related education and work experience to equal at least four years.
Preferred Qualifications:
This is an entry-level position. Laboratory experience in a classroom setting preferred.
