Quality Assurance Manager position in Brooklyn, NY. Duties incl: Audit & approve new production lines by completing new line assessments in conjunction w/ food safety regulatory & quality compliance reqmts. Review domestic & int'l label & ingredient compliance in accordance w/ the Food & Drug Administration & relevant regulatory bodies. Dvlp & improve SOPs & spec sheets for all products w/ all 3PMs & 3PLs to ensure that food safety, regulatory & quality assurance protocols are followed. Identify & manage continuous food safety & quality improvement plans for all partners/SKU while maintaining or reducing the cost of mfg. Manage compliance of 3rd-party certification - USDA Organic, Paleo, Keto, Kosher, Non-GMO Project Verified, & Fairtrade. Vet potential new vendors & ingredients for food safety, regulatory & quality compliance. Manage all Hu Products' info throughout multiple s/ware & systems such as NetSuite & Gs1 Data Hub to ensure all info is up to date & compliant. Lead investigation of food safety issues w/ external partners to identify the root cause & implmt corrective actions. Maintain Recall procedure & lead Hu Products Recall team. Approve partners by reviewing GFSI certification & audits, HACCP plans, GMP, Allergen & relevant food safety prgms. Reqmts: Must have a bach deg in Food Sci or Food Engg. Must have at least 24 mos exp in food safety & quality assurance. Skill reqmts: Exp in auditing food facilities according to SQF, FDA stds & governing state food safety reqmts. Exp working w/ suppliers, warehouses, production teams & conduct risk assessment, food safety & quality prgm review & overall adherence to FSMA & regulatory reqmts. Proficiency in NetSuite &/or ERP system & GS1 barcoding system. Must have technical knowl in monitoring quality characteristics of foods, such as flavor, color, texture, nutritional value, convenience, or physical, chemical, microbiological composition of foods.
