Accountant
Due to an internal move, Land O'Lakes is hiring an Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team focused on Fixed Assets/Capital projects. Our Fixed Assets team is responsible for performing and managing all aspects of Land O’Lakes Capital Projects from authorization review to disposal in accordance with corporate guidelines across all of our Land O'Lakes business units to include Dairy, Purina, WinField United, and Corporate.
This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Arden Hills, MN (hybrid work arrangement)
Responsibilities include:

Initiate/Create/Record transactions in fixed asset systems, including regular additions, transfers and disposals

Update and maintain accounting journal entries, general ledgers and other records detailing fixed asset transactions

Prepare various journal entries to properly record transactions related to Capital Projects. Reconcile the Fixed Asset sub ledger to the General Ledger in an accurate and efficient manner

Determine proper accountability of assets through physical count, inventory and confirmation

Be the accounting liaison for project-related requests

Review and authorize capital project authorizations for the Purina, Winfield, Dairy, and Corporate Business Units to verify compliance with corporate guidelines

Provide guidance, understand and articulate the appropriateness of capitalizing an asset in accordance with company policy
Experience & Education:
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting along with a minimum of 1-2years work experience.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivots, vlook ups, running macros etc..)

Knowledge of ERP Systems to include JD Edwards, SAP strongly desired.

Hyperion, Business Objects, and PowerBI experience preferred

Strong technical accounting and GAAP knowledge
