Job Description Teach basic nutrition, food safety, thrifty food shopping, food preparation, and physical activity classes (training will be provided). These Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) classes are taught using standardized curriculum materials based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and will be taught to low-income adults with children and to youth in grades 3-12. Network with other individuals and agency representatives, work with others, recruit participants, and learn nutrition and nutrition-related information as outlined in the project.
Position is located in Toledo, Ohio.
Minimum Education Required: HS Graduate or Equivalent Additional Education Desired: 2-Year College Degree
Required Qualifications: One year of relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications: Two to four years of relevant experience preferred. Post high school training or Associate's Degree in Nutrition, Physical Activity, or other Family and Consumer Sciences/Human Development and Family Studies related area.
Basic knowledge of and/or interest in household management skills including food preparation and nutritional needs is required. Willingness and ability to work in economically and socially disadvantaged areas is necessary, along with the ability to establish rapport with persons from different ethnic, cultural, and/or economic backgrounds. Must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language, follow written/oral instructions, perform simple numerical computations, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records. Basic knowledge and comfort with using computers is required. Must be able to lift and carry educational materials (up to 35 lbs) to program sites. Access to private transportation to reach various work and training sites is required.
Pay Range for this job profile is $15.00 - $17.58, the pay offer will fall within this range based on internal equity, department budget, and candidate qualifications.
