The Catering Sales and Event Coordinator serves as an integral member of the Catering team by providing outstanding customer service and catering event front of the house management. This position will meet with clients, determine needs, coordinate staff, direct set up and service of catering events, troubleshoot issues that arise and consistently provide customer service to clients and guests through the entire process. The assistant manager strives to provide a safe and inviting, catering experience for our guests with healthful food choices, sustainability practices, and quality service in a manner that promotes the diversity, growth, and education of our students, staff, faculty, and guests.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Associates degree in food systems management, business, hotel/restaurant management or equivalent education/experience. Three (3) years Food service management experience in a Catering or dining service operation required; equivalency considered. Experience supervising food production and / or catering service staff, food/labor/equipment/supply cost control, human resource management, purchasing and inventory control required. Experience directing food safety and sanitation programs necessary. Customer Service experience required. Knowledge of personal computers, word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail and the Internet.Ability to learn catering ordering and billing systems, food ordering systems, menu planning systems, etc. Health Department Food Safety Training. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in food systems management, business, hotel/restaurant management or equivalent education/experience. Experience working in the catering industry with experience in planning and executing a variety of large catered events. NRA Serve Safe Certification
