Job Summary: The Free Fresh Food Marketplace is seeking a highly organized and motivated Operations Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of the marketplace. The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for managing food partnerships, coordinating with student interns/volunteers, maintaining compliance with food handling regulations, and ensuring smooth market operations. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for food security and health promotion.
Schedule: 20 hours per week, includes full benefits Pay Rate: $22.00 Grant funded anticipated as a 2 year assignment.

Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities:
Food Safety and Compliance
Maintain current food handler's licensing and ensure all staff and interns comply with food safety regulations.
Ensure the marketplace meets all food partner contract requirements, including space maintenance and accurate record-keeping.
Keep up to date with food safety guidelines and adjust procedures as needed.
Food Partner Management and Growth
Maintain existing food contract partnerships and ensure ongoing compliance with partner requirements.
Develop and establish new food partnerships to expand the variety and availability of fresh food options.
Communicate regularly with food partners to coordinate deliveries and pickups.
Market Operations and Maintenance
Coordinate and assist with food pickups and drop-offs.
Clean, prepare, and open the marketplace for scheduled operating hours.
Organize and display food items in an accessible and aesthetically pleasing manner.
Keep the marketplace space clean, organized, and free of clutter.
Client Services and Scheduling
Manage client scheduling and appointment bookings.
Check clients in for their appointments and provide a welcoming environment.
Establish and post food limits based on inventory and availability.
Team Coordination and Supervision
Coordinate and manage student interns and volunteers working in the marketplace.
Assign tasks and provide guidance to interns during open market hours.
Work with interns on nutrition-related projects to enhance client education and engagement.
Reporting and Communication
Report directly to the Health Promotion Center Director regarding marketplace operations and issues.
Maintain accurate records of food inventory, client visits, and partner communications.
Provide regular reports on marketplace performance and client feedback.
Maintain and report student intern and volunteer reports and feedback.
Required Qualifications:
Must possess a valid, unrestricted (Class C) California driver's license and be willing and able to drive a large refrigerated van.
Experience in food service, food distribution, or market operations preferred.
Current food handler's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to food justice.
Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU's Community Life Covenant.
